I just got word about 20 minutes ago; I've got the job at Google. I'd have posted sooner, but I've spent the last 20 minutes trying to get my feet to touch the ground again.
I've got until the 11th to tie up some of the loose ends on stuff I wanted to do in my copious amounts of free time, including squeezing in the rest of Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Gears of War; in addition, the Wii arrives on the 8th (assuming all goes well in preorder-land), alongside Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, which leaves me a grand total of about 72 hours to finish a 60+ hour game.
I expect that by the 11th, I'll have finished none of the above.
My big project has three problems. One, I've gotten bogged down in technology; however, I'll soon be making available, probably in BSD license, a small chunk of that work - the core of a Lua 5.1 parser written in ANTLR, for folks writing Java applications that need to be able to read/parse/etc. in Lua.
The second, of course, is the domain name, of which my clever name choice is gone. So I need to think of a new domain name for the project, and I'm having a hard time coming up with good ones.
The third, of course, is that it isn't done yet, having been bogged down in the first problem; but this is the easiest of the problems to solve.
That's a lot to do in a very short period of time before I'm back at work; and since the game playing fits more easily into spare time than volumes of coding, I'll probably spend most of that time writing code.

Now that is really good news.
I've been telling one of my friends lately that someone I know tried to get a job at Google, but that it is taking quite a while and that it seems unlikely by now that he will get it.
I am glad I was wrong!
Congratulations Greg, I wish you all the best and hope that it'll be as fulfilling for you as Netscape was. Also, now I am really excited to personally know one of those Google cool wiz kids. ;)
Cheers,
Thomas
